Today we launch our annual impact report – a record of the work we have done with younger and older people over the last year. Read the full report here.
The pandemic continues to pose many challenges, but we're delighted that we've been able to grow our work and our impact in 2020-21. Across the programmes we’ve run and the programmes we’ve supported, we have reached 1029 older people and 988 younger people, creating intergenerational connections in the following ways:
We adapted our flagship programme, InCommon: Connect, enabling primary-age children and residents in local retirement homes to come together remotely for fun and learning.
We partnered with Clarion Futures and the #iwill campaign to develop an intergenerational social action framework which inspires young and old to create positive change for the future of their communities.
We began our digital inclusion work, offering devices, data and technical support to some of our older participants.
We devised an anti-prejudice charter for our organisation, setting out our role in challenging inequality in our team, our programme and the wider arenas in which we operate. As part of this work, we ran an intergenerational programme for LGBTQ+ people of different ages, marking an important milestone in our work with marginalised groups.
We are immensely proud of the work that we have done this year to bring people of all ages together, fostering strength and solidarity at a difficult time. We look forward to facilitating more intergenerational friendships in the years to come, creating connected, inclusive and age-friendly communities for all.
