InCommon's Covid-19 response featured on the BBC

“Even though we had to stop our workshops, we knew how important it would be to still keep people connected across the generations during the pandemic because everyone we work with had been significantly affected. The older people were facing higher shielding restrictions, and the children were suddenly at home without their normal activities or support networks. We really found on both sides there was an appetite for more activity to take place.”

In September our co-founder Laura Macartney was interviewed by BBC Radio London’s Make a Difference programme about how we’ve been connecting generations during covid-19.

Our Buddies programme has given older people and children a chance to share moments of joy over the phone and video calls over the last six months.
