We’re delighted to have teamed up with our friends at the Brixton-based Advocacy Academy to run a free ten session course on how to create change in the local community.
The course will run from November 2024 to July 2025 on Monday evenings and - in true InCommon fashion - it will be intergenerational. Open to all ages, we’re particularly interested in hearing from over 55s and under 18s.
Across the ten weeks, we’ll be running sessions on how to hold good meetings, conflict resolution and more. You don’t have to be familiar with activism or change making to take part - beginners are very much welcome. There’ll also be plenty of food and the opportunity to connect with others.
We’ve got two taster sessions coming up where you can meet the team, hear more about the training series and explore what dreams we have for our communities and how we can action them.
Want to join? Register for the taster sessions via Eventbrite. These sesisons will take place at 2 Beehive Place, Brixton, SW9 7QR on the following dates:
29 October, 1pm-3pm
30 October, 6pm-8pm
If you’ve got any questions or would like to find out more about the project, please contact us at hello@incommon.org.uk.
The Advocacy Academy is a youth organising movement, training young people from South London in the skills needed to change the world around them. You can find out more about what they do on their website.
