Connect is our flagship programme bringing together primary school children with their older neighbours in retirement homes.

  • We connect primary schools in London with local retirement homes for a year of intergenerational learning and fun. Children and older people attend monthly workshops where they learn more about themselves and each other through conversation-based activities and creative projects. All of our workshops are designed to boost connection, confidence and wellbeing for people of all ages.

  • Our intergenerational workshops usually last around an hour. We start with some ice breakers, so we can get to know each other better and then move onto a creative activity. As our programmes are co-designed, many of the ideas for activities come directly from young people and older people.

Some recent activities include: finding out about each other’s life stories, designing dream museums, storytelling and playing our favourite childhood games.

  • We’re always looking for new partners to deliver our programmes, particularly providers of older people’s housing. Find out more and contact us here.
